Aloha!
My name is Renee and I am a local on the island of Oahu. I am a mom of 3 beautiful little keiki's. My daughters are 15 and 11 years old and I also have a little man thats 4 years old.
I run my business a little different then most. In Hawaii we have a special laid back type of attitude and everything is about helping each other through aloha.
My clients soon find them self as being part of my family pretty much right after we meet in person. I refer to all the little keiki's I photograph as my babies. To them I am aunty Renee. Hawaii is unique in this way.
We refer to our friends as aunties, uncles, sisters, brothers, grandmas and grandpas. This is how we show respect for others just like people would call others sir and ma'am. Once in a while my kids will pop their heads in to say hi or to offer a drink and we will often refer to our guests as Aunty and Uncle. I run a family style environment because I want people to settle in and feel at home.
To me photography is very intimate. I see my clients through different stages of life. I see how their kids grow and I care how they are doing. Most people I have worked with I still check in on them from time to time to just catch up.
Why I wanted to be a photographer
I have always known the importance of photography even as a child. I know how life is so precious.
I wanted to preserve the importance that we place on our kids and families in general through photography.
My kids LOVE looking at all the pictures I have taken over the years of them and it really does have an impact on their lives. They feel important and they feel like they matter to you because you took the time to take those photos and print them up. "Speaking from personal experiences"
Once that moment passes you can never get it back but you can capture that moment in photos. You can have that photo forever!
What type of photography do you do?
I never thought that I would specialize in newborn photography. But I guess it was natural for me. I was always that person that everyone brought their kids to. LOL. I was changing diapers from the age of I say 4 or 5. I enjoyed taking care of babies they are so cute!
I offer maternity sessions {Announcements and gender reveals also}, birthing, the first 48 hours, newborn images in studio and or outside, milestones sessions including cake smash sessions, senior portraits and family portraits.
